Environmental

We care about creating a positive legacy of improving people’s lives and enhancing their communities, including a commitment to minimising energy usage across all our locations. This commitment includes ensuring every colleague and other partners who work at our locations, have been inducted and trained to carry out their activities in a way to conserve energy. Appropriate training, guidance, and support are provided to ensure compliance with our Energy Policy.

We take our environmental responsibility seriously; developing insulation solutions to protect both the UK’s built environment and the natural environment. All our manufacturing plant is certified to ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 9001: 2008 and use 0% CO2 electricity. Our objective is to maximise our contribution to sustainable development whilst reducing our impact on the environment.

Our Isover UK structural and technical insulation ranges achieve Eurofins Comfort Gold standard for indoor air quality. Our thermal and acoustic insulation products are manufactured in accordance with the UKCA and CE marking requirements, under the Construction Products Directive, and to BS EN standards.

Waste Management and Recycling

We continually monitor the levels of waste from all its activities and drives and implements procedures which reduce the amount of waste produced.

Our glass mineral wool products are made from up to 82% recycled glass material and the product packaging is entirely recyclable. The yellow batt film, clear top film, yellow roll film, clear multipack compression film and clear stretch film are manufactured from 100% low density polyethylene (LDPE). Recycling LDPE products is simple and can be handled at most supermarkets and recycling centres. Doing so is free and will help guarantee that the material can be used again in the future; recycled LDPE products can be transformed into bin liners, plastic furniture and floor tiles.

Distribution

We work continually to reduce our carbon footprint within our distribution process. In 2023, we were able to ensure our logistics fleet became 100% Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) capable. In addition, we now have a minimum of 30% recycled content in all our packaging. These achievements not only reduce our own carbon footprint but also help to reduce our customers’ Scope 3 emissions.
